I had a hand-held tool that worked great for 4.75mm pipe, but I needed to flare bigger sizes as well. Did a lot of research and I couldn't tell if the turret-style tools could do 6, 8mm DIN flares. Decided to get this tool since I could buy separate dies for whichever size and style pipe I needed.
Tool works great, creates good flares and is simple to use. Most important is to have a nice vice and having it mounted solidly so it doesn't move.
At first the tool seemed bit "dry" on moving parts, so I sprayed metal-to-metal contacts with little bit of WD40.
Another thing I am little bit confused about is when using DIN flare's first step, the handle seems to want to "flip over" right when tool "maxes out", making alignment of the pipe little bit difficult. Seems to me that the "bolt" used for the first step should protrude out a bit more, so it makes contact before handle is maxed out. Either it is a design decision, design error or tool is mis-configured/aligned.
